Summary: As a communications specialist for DoveLewis, I managed all social media accounts on behalf of the company to increase brand awareness, drive website traffic, and engage with past, current and potential clients. I started every day by walking through the ER and ICU to see who was in the hospital and to chat with medical staff members about their shifts.
Strategy: I created and utilized editorial calendars (that tied into PR initiatives and other communication plans), but also stayed flexible, due to the ever-changing nature of the hospital. When appropriate, I created contests and other types of campaigns (using the Offerpop platform) to inspire engagement.
Fun fact: Sometimes I got to feature my rescue dog Watson the Dachshund on DoveLewis social media channels (since he was originally admitted to the hospital as an injured #dovestray and was formerly dubbed the “office dog” of the communications department).
